HP High Court Stenographer

The Himachal Pradesh High Court Stenographer Grade-III examination consists of a Screening Test followed by a Proficiency Test. The Screening Test carries 100 marks and is conducted for two hours through objective-type MCQs. It includes General English for 60 marks, covering Grammar and Sentence Structure, Vocabulary, and Error Detection, along with General Intelligence and Reasoning for 20 marks and Himachal General Knowledge for 20 marks. Candidates qualifying the Screening Test are shortlisted for the Proficiency Test in a 1:15 ratio against vacancies. The Proficiency Test includes English Stenography at 80 WPM, Hindi Stenography at 60 WPM, English Typing at 40 WPM, and Hindi Typing at 30 WPM. Candidates must maintain accuracy, with only 10% mistakes permitted in transcription and typing tests.
